It's a long weekend in Cebu for President Duterte; 1,200 cops to secure his activities

AT least 1,200 policemen will secure President Rodrigo Duterte during his visit this weekend in Cebu City, Tabogon and Alegria towns.

Senior Supt. Julian Entoma, Regional Operations and Plans Division of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7, said that around 400 police officers will guard the president in each venue.

“Our security plan for the president’s visit are already in place. There will be civil disturbance management personnel that will be augmented particularly at the Cebu City Sports Complex, as well as in other venues,” Entoma said.

Duterte is set to grace the opening ceremony of the Philippine National Games in Cebu City on Saturday.

The Quick Reaction Force (QRF) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Cebu Provincial Mobile Force Company will also be on standby and have started clearing operations at the venues in Tabogon and Alegria, Entoma said. (JOB)
