Philippine Postal implements corporate social responsibility program

THE Philippine Postal Corporation (Philpost) hosted a corporate social responsibility program over the weekend at the Gawad Kalinga Village in Barangay Santa Ursula Betis in celebration of the second year anniversary of the improved postal identification card (ID).

The event included the mobile capturing of chosen Gawid Kalinga Community for their respective postal identification cards, video gallery highlighting the Postal ID uses and benefits, feeding program of underprivileged children and school supply giving to children of Gawad Kalinga community.

The Hilario Sr. and Cristina Salas Gawad Kalinga Village were the selected recipients of this year’s corporate social event.

The beneficiaries of the village make a living out of fishing, sale of scrap materials and scavenging.

The activity aimed to promote the use of the improved postal identification card.

Philpost said the improved postal ID is now infused with physical and biometrics-based security features, making it the most secure and accessible government-issued ID today.

The improved postal ID released last May 2016 has better security features which are difficult to fake compared to the IDs introduced in November 2014.
