Drug den dismantled in San Fernando City

OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Central Luzon dismantled over the weekend a suspected drug den located in Barangay Quebiawan, San Fernando City.

PDEA-Central Luzon regional director Gil Pabilona said the operating team implemented a search warrant against an alleged drug den operated by Cyrus Tarnate after receiving reports from the neighborhood about the alleged illegal activities in the area.

During the operation, five suspected drug personalities were arrested including Tarnate alias “Totoy”, 37, and four others namely Joel Dizon, 36, Freddie Boy Bobos alias “Tibo”, 38, Jonrey Latib, 20, Richard Benedicto, 20.

“Tarnate or alias Totoy has been operating his drug den since April this year and there are various reports from concerned people in Quebiawan against him and his cohorts that is why we monitor his illegal activities until his arrest today,” Pabilona said.

Confiscated from the suspects were seven pieces of heat-sealed transparent sachets containing estimated 15 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P102,000 and various drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are now temporarily detained at PDEA 3 jail for further investigation.

Violation of section 6 (maintenance of den, dive, resort), section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) section 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia) will be charged against Tarnate; while violation of section 7 (employee or visitor of drug den) section 11, 12 and 15 of Republic Act 9165 will be charged against Tarnate’s cohorts.
