No affirmation yet for IP rep

DAVAO City Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag said they were still waiting for the release of the Certificate of Affirmation for the newly chosen Indigenous People's Mandatory Representative (IPMR) before the latter could finally take oath as councilor.

Last April 15, majority of Bagobo-Klata Tribe chose the 31-year-old registered nurse Bae Cherry Ann Ortiz-Codilla to represent the IP sector in the city council.

"We are still waiting, I do not know what is the problem, unfortunately she cannot get the Certificate of the Affirmation until now that is why she cannot take her oath," Al-ag said in an interview last week.

He said that it will be a disadvantage of the IP sector if the seat will remain unoccupied.

Al-ag said that he is hoping to receive the document soon.

Based on earlier media forum, Codilla has already plans and projects to do once she will take oath as councilor, and these include free boardinghouse for the IP students who are staying in the city and the IP desk at the Southern Philippines Medical Center.
