A POLISH national was arrested after he allegedly molested a 16-year-old girl.
The foreigner, who hails from Czestochowa, Poland, was renting a room in a building in Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City.
Senior Insp. Sheila Gurtiza, chief of the Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) of the Cebu City Police Office, identified the suspect as Janusz Piotr Ciniewski, 31.
Gurtiza said the foreigner claimed that the minor agreed to go with him and did not know she was a minor.
Police arrested the foreigner after the father of the victim called the police. The girl asked for his father’s help after she reportedly wasn’t allowed go out of the Polish national’s room.
Gurtiza said the parents of the victim have yet to reach a decision if they will file a case against the foreigner today.
Gurtiza said the foreigner reportedly found the victim walking on the street. He then asked her to go with him.
Police and social workers will interview the minor today
