7 nabbed in separate drug busts in Cebu

SEVEN men were caught in separate drug busts in Lapu-Lapu City and Consolacion and Badian towns in Cebu in the past two days.

In Consolacion, police arrested five drug personalities in a series of drug busts that started at 12:20 a.m. and ended at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, May 23.

Chief Inspector Gerard Ace Pelare, the town police commander, said the operatives seized 0.54 gram of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P5,532, a Dangerous Drugs Board value.

The arrested suspects were Racky Sandoval Salvador, Vicente Gerundio Mangubat, Charles Villarmia, Klent Lopez, and Kerk Tumongha.

The drug busts happened in the villages of Danglag, Nangka, Pitogo and Poblacion Oriental.

At 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, Melvin Zafra Daño was caught in Sitio Masiwa, Barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City, yielding 0.84 gram of shabu worth P9,912.

Two hours earlier, Lenwel Flores Bahunog yielded 0.22 gram of shabu worth P5,000 after his arrest in Barangay Dagatan, Badian.

Suspects will be facing complaints for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
