THE Commission on Election (Comelec) is reminding all the candidates, both winners and losers, to submit their Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) during the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections on May 14.
Bacolod City Election Registrar Mavil Majarucon-Sia said all the candidates, both winners and losers, should submit the SOCE at Comelec office.
Its deadline is on June 13.
She said those who fail to submit will be fined administratively or subject to perpetual disqualification to hold public office.
"As of May 21, we did not receive SOCE from candidates here," she added.
Majarucon-Sia noted that the Comelec Campaign Finance Committee will validate and evaluate the submitted SOCE.
Soce is a comprehensive report about the campaign contributions and expenditures of political candidates.
Meanwhile, Ma. Joy Maredith Madayag, director of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Bacolod, said she will discuss with the Liga ng mga Barangay to require the barangay officials to undergo training prior to their assumption to office.
She said the winning candidates should be conscious that they had rules and regulations that need to perform.
"The newly elected barangay officials should observe and study their functions while the re-elected should also review their works for the improvement of their barangay," she added.
DILG had earlier required all proclaimed SK officials to undergo mandatory training at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos prior to their assumption to the office on July 1.
