SEVEN men were arrested on Wednesday afternoon, May 23, after they allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl in Sitio Bonbon, Barangay Catarman, Liloan, Cebu.
Superintendent Randy Korret, the town police chief, said the incident happened around 1 a.m. on the same day near the shore in Bonbon.
The suspects are neighbors of the victim and one of them is a 16-year-old eleventh grader. (SunStar Cebu withholds the names of the victim and the suspects pursuant to the confidentiality provision of the Anti-Rape Law.)
Investigation showed the victim, an incoming grade eight student, was persuaded by her 20-year-old friend, one of the culprits, to drink liquor with the other suspects.
She claimed the suspects mixed the liquor with monosodium glutamate.
The victim said the suspects then took turns in raping her after she became drunk.
She woke up at 9 a.m., lying alone inside a cottage. Her clothes were wet. She felt pain in her privates.
The girl reported the incident to the police with her grandmother. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
