Pdea deliberates 111 villages to be free from drugs in Western Visayas

THE PHILIPPINE Drug Enforcement Agency (Pdea) in Western Visayas released an initial list of 111 villages that were deliberated free from illegal drugs in Western Visayas this year.

In a report posted by Pdea on their facebook page Wednesday, May 23, these villages were deliberated by the Barangay Drug Clearing Program - Regional Oversight Committee composed of PDEA-Western Visayas, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Western Visayas, Police Regional Office (PRO) in Western Visayas, and Department of Health (DOH) in Western Visayas.

There were 15 villages from Pulupandan town in Negros Occidental, 15 villages from Libacao and nine villages from Malinao in Aklan province while 22 barangays from Hamtic in Antique province were deliberated free from illegal drugs.

In Iloilo province, 11 villages in Janiuay, eight in Maasin, 15 in Mina, and 16 in Tubungan underwent the same deliberation as well.

These villages were deliberated from January to March to ascertain compliance with Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Regulation No. 3, series of 2017.

The remaining certificates of barangays that were deliberated by the committee last January to April were forwarded to PRO-Western Visayas for validation and signature.
