VEHICULAR traffic will be rerouted temporarily on Friday, May 25, as some streets in Cebu City will be closed for the celebration of the "Gabii of Kabilin" (Night of Heritage).

The road closure will start at 5 p.m. and end at midnight of May 25, said the Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) in an advisory Thursday, May 24.

The affected streets are the following:

* E. Aboitiz St./Lopez Jaena St. (from Mabini St. up to M.J. Cuenco Ave.)

* Mabini St. (from corner Bonifacio St. up to Urdaneta St.)

* P. Burgos St. (From V. Gullas St. up to M. C. Briones St.)

* Colon St. (from D. Jakosalem St. up to Mabini St.)

* Osmeña Blvd. (From D. Jakosalem St. to Lapulapu St.)

CCTO said that all vehicles that will traverse along Colon St. coming Leon Kilat St., including Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJs) will have no access to Mabini St.

"PUJs shall turn left to D. Jakosalem St., then to destination, while those PUJs bound for SM should right turn to Imus Road, go straight to Imus New Road, then to their point of destination," it said.

Private vehicles may traverse at Osmeña Blvd., or to D. Jakosalem St., the CCTO added.

Also, all vehicles, including PUJs coming from Sikatuna St. bound for Colon St., shall turn right to Zamora St., to Sanciangko St. or right turn to D. Jakosalem St., then to their point of destination.

All vehicles that traverse along Isagani St. shall turn left to Mabini St., then to their point of destination.

All PUJs bound for SM/North Reclamation Area shall traverse along Junquera St., while those passing along P. del Rosario St. shall go straight to Imus St., right turn to Sikatuna St., left turn to T. Padilla St., then to their point of destination.

"Motorist, drivers and other road users are advised to follow the traffic signs installed on the rerouting area," the advisory stated. (SunStar Philippines)
