RADISSON Blu Cebu will undergo a phased upgrade of its guest rooms beginning June.
Radisson Blu general manager Stephan Sieberg said they will initially start changing the look of 55 guest rooms until it finishes the upgrade of the entire 400-room business hotel.
“Room renovations will last up to 18 months,” he said.
Sieberg said the planned improvement signifies the hotel’s commitment to deliver excellent service in Cebu, in the midst of competition and the continued arrival of guests.
“Enhancements happen daily. This hotel never had a standstill. Since I arrived, I implemented a change in mindset so that there is no standstill in guest service excellence and no standstill in innovative approach. It is the little things that mean a lot because for us every moment matters and this is where we would see enhancements. So mainly, enhancement would be seen in the service and details,” said Sieberg, in an interview on Wednesday.
Moreover, the hotel general manager welcomes the entry of Radisson Red in Mandaue City, saying this reflects the confidence of investors in the Radisson brand.
Last month, listed developer Cebu Landmasters Inc. (CLI) signed a management agreement with the Radisson Hotel Group to bring the first Radisson Red hotel to the Philippines in Cebu.
Operated by Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Radisson Red is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2021. It will have 146 rooms.
Radisson Red’s concept is described as “expressive, technologically-savvy and social” and is “perfectly suited to Asia’s new generation of travelers who desire experience, flexibility and connectivity.” “The entry of Raddion Red is for us positive. This shows that investors do have trust in our brand and trust in the success of the brand. They do see the success of Radisson Blu Cebu...it will support further our market presence in Cebu and in the Philippines. The brands of Radisson are moving,” said Sieberg, adding that there are plans to open Park Inn by Radisson in other parts of the country like Iloilo, North Edsa, Baguio, and Bacolod.
Sieberg also anticipates influx of guests when the Terminal 2 of the Mactan Cebu International Airport starts operating next month.
“We are excited how the new airport will transform Cebu’s tourism industry and the new markets we will be attracting,” he said. (KOC)
