Davao Customs hits highest collection at P554M

THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Davao reached their highest daily collection last Thursday, May 24, at P553.8 million – the highest daily collection in the history of Port of Davao.

According to Port of Davao District Collector lawyer Romalino Valdez, they target to reach revenue collection of P1.755 billion for the month of May. Last Thursday, they were able to reach more than half a billion collection for a single day.

“The personnel of the Port of Davao had been working hand-in-hand to attain this target – ever high,” said Valdez.

Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapeña said the Port of Davao had already hit its revenue collection for the month – the highest in its history.

He added the collection of the ports in Mindanao in general for the first quarter of the year had been “encouraging.” Lapeña commended the collectors in Mindanao for the good revenue collections.

“Now, we still have other ports in Mindanao that have yet to reach their target but we are optimistic. We still have 5 days [before the end of the month]. I am optimistic that all of our ports this time will be able to hit their target because as of this time, the Bureau has already reached its target,” said Lapeña.

Former Port of Davao District Collector Dino Austria, who is now assigned to Port of Manila, was also commended by Lapeña for a good performance there achieving a revenue collection which is highest in the history of Port of Manila. (JPA)
