3 hurt in another Kennon mishap

A MOTORCYCLE driver and his two back riders were injured in another accident along Kennon Road, the fourth in a span of five days.

Benguet Police said that on Thursday afternoon, May 24, an Elf truck driven by Johnny Ngale Togatog, was traversing Camp 5, Kennon Road and heading towards Baguio City when it collided with a black motorcycle without plate number driven by Dindo Galagal Liwan with two back riders.

The motorcycle encroached on the opposite lane and collided with the truck, which sustained damage on its left bumper. The driver was unharmed.

Liwan and his back riders - Francis Tibab of Lipay, San Gabriel, La Union and Jun Tiway, native of Bauko, Mt. Province – sustained injuries and were brought to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center by emergency responders.

On May 22, two elderly women died after they were run over by a car along Kennon Road in Camp 4, Tuba, Benguet. Their four minor grandchildren sustained injuries.

On Buhagan (formerly Bokawkan) Road, a 10-wheeler truck lost its brakes and rammed 11 vehicles on the same day. Three were injured.

On May 20, seven persons, including two minors, were injured when the passenger van they were riding was hit by boulders in Sitio Kaipilan, Barangay Camp 3 in Tuba, Benguet.

The van crashed into a concrete barrier after the driver lost control.
