AN AWARDING ceremony was held at the Bacolod City Police Office headquarters Friday night to recognize the team who competed in the 1st Regional Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) competition at Camp General Martin Teofilo Delgado in Iloilo City on May 24.

Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, director of Police Regional Office 6, awarded each of the BCPO contingents led by Chief Inspector Sherlock Gabana, deputy chief of Police Community Relations (PCR), with Medalya ng Papuri for being the overall champion of the 1st Regional Civil Disturbance Management competition.

Binag said a cash prize of P25,000 will be given to the 122 BCPO contingents and their expenses were refunded.

They will compete in the national level at the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame.

The CDM challenge is a way to test the capabilities and skills of the different units in handling the crowd during protests. (Debbie Benedicto, STI West Negros University intern)
