Binag urges commanders to instill discipline in personnel

CHIEF Superintendent Cesar Binag, director of Police Regional Office (PRO) Western Visayas, urges all leaders and commanders at all levels to exercise their leadership in instilling discipline to their respective units.

Binag was in Bacolod City Friday to commend the personnel of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) for their accomplishment in the neutralization of Ramy Poja, one of the high-value target drug personalities in Western Visayas, and achievement of 122 BCPO personnel in winning the 1st Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) challenge held in Iloilo City on Thursday.

"I expect that all commanders will exercise their disciplinary powers," the region’s top cop said.

"Kung hindi kikilos ang police chiefs, hindi rin ‘yan ma su-supervise ng city, provincial, or regional directors (if police chiefs will not do their part, they cannot also be supervised well by their city, provincial, or regional directors),” Binag said.

“That's why there's squadding. I hope we will continue what is manageable in a squad so that we can accomplish more as one,” he added.

Binag said he will conduct a region wide survey to check who disregard the order.

He also said that the region has many accomplishments in terms of police operations.

Thus, he encouraged BCPO personnel to focus more on small details to establish a good relationship in the community.

"You should always be motivated to work and serve the people,” Binag said, as he reiterated the instructions of Director General Oscar Albayalade, chief of Philippine National Police (PNP), to always be disciplined and have the right attitude in dealing with their clients.

This will give a long-lasting impression to the community, he added.

Binag also congratulated the BCPO for the continued reduction of crimes in the city.

He also mentioned that the BCPO's accomplishment greatly contributed to the success of the recently-concluded Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections, with a crime reduction of 80 percent compared to 2013 regionwide.

"To sustain such results, we should continue to focus in discipline and the attitude of policemen," Binag said.
