An epic trip for a week

CEBU Pacific’s Juan For Fun 2018 Epic Trip gives people the chance to travel around the country for a week—for free.

Open to young Filipinos ages 18 to 23, Cebu Pacific’s Juan For Fun promotes sustainable and responsible tourism.

Out of 13,000 entries nationwide, only five young lucky winners were chosen: Michael Saturos, 22, the eco-warrior of Davao; Elmo Ador Jr., 18, future soldier of Ilo-Ilo,; Frances Banico, 18, the NFSB (No Flight Since Birth) of Sultan Kudarat; Ronil Ferolino Jr., 19, the tour guide of Zamboanga del Sur and Jonathan Cuanso, 20, the student-teacher of Baguio.

To make the trip more memorable, each winner is allowed to bring along two companions of his choice as travel buddies.

“Being responsible travelers, we brought alternative metal straws, tumblers, spoons and forks—so we won’t be buying these from one place to another,” shared Saturos.

“I wanted to join because I wanted to see the majesty and beauty of the Philippines before I fight for it,” said Banico.

All five teams, with their celebrity travel coaches (Bea Binene, Baninay Bautista, Jude Bacalso, Kimpoy Feliciano, Wil Dasovich and Kyle “Kulas” Jennermann) were at Ibiza Beach Club at Movenpick Hotel, Mactan, Cebu last May 22 for their official send-off party.

The coaches helped the teams plan their itineraries for the week-long trip. Each team had three different places to explore which they picked from a list of Cebu Pacific destinations such as Batanes, Puerto Princesa, Siargao, Camiguin and many more.

The teams are given a Special Fun Challenge Booklet which contains activities that they must try throughout their Juan For Fun journey with a travel allowance of P40,000 on top of their sponsored airfare.
