Northern Negros Electric Coop given outstanding rating

EDGARDO Masongsong, administrator of National Electrification Administration (Nia), confirmed Sunday, May 27, that Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (Noneco) is now a Triple A or Outstanding Electric Cooperative.

"I would like to wish that all electric cooperatives will also be like Noneco with an outstanding rating," said Masongsong, who was guest of honor in the 46th annual general membership assembly of Noneco yesterday, May 27.

He said that the Nia Board of Administrators led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi approves the recommendation of the Technical Working Group that evaluates the performance of all electric cooperatives in the country.

"That means Noneco is performing extraordinarily in the aspects of financial, technical, institutional and legal. The consumers will enjoy reasonable and affordable rate because of the collection efficiency which is at 100 percent and has low systems loss," Masongsong said.

Noneco's 46th general assembly was themed “Keeping Abreast with Industry Demands Towards Service Excellence and Sustainability.”

For his part, Noneco general manager Danny Pondevilla cited several initiatives and strategies that lead towards power quality and reliability.

"With the growing number of industries in our coverage areas, we are also mandated to increase power demand to cater to our customer classes from residential, commercial low voltage and commercial high voltage which can lead in to opening new opportunities that generally increase our coops revenue thereby sustaining our distribution and supply,” Pontedevilla said.

For 2017, Noneco has a total of 255,966 member consumers covering E.B. Magalona, Victorias City, Manapla, Cadiz City, Sagay City, Escalante City, Toboso, Calatrava and San Carlos City.
