5 nabbed in drug bust

FIVE persons were arrested in separate drug busts in Negros Occidental over the weekend.

In Bacolod City, Niko Iñez, 29, and John Mark Deala, 21, both residents of Barangay Sum-ag, were collared in a drug bust in the said village on Sunday, May 27.

Police records showed that both suspects allegedly sold two sachets of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to a police agent for P500.

Both also yielded an additional three sachets of suspected shabu. They are detained at Police Station 9.

Also arrested in the city for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs were Miguel Magbanua, 23, and Maricris Montaño, 28, both residents of Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 on Saturday, May 26.

Magbanua reportedly sold a shabu to a police agent for P1,000.

Police recovered from them three sachets of suspected shabu amounting to P25,000, the P1,000 marked money and P450 in cash.

Both suspects are detained at Police Station 2.

In Talisay City, Leomar Remegio, 33, of Barangay Zone 4-A was arrested on Saturday after he yielded eight sachets of suspected shabu, P300 marked money, and P610 in cash.

Remegio is a drug surrenderer and a street-level target drug personality in Talisay City, police records showed. He is detained at Talisay City Police Station. (GYM)
