THE three companions of Western Visayas's drug lord Ramy Poja were released from police custody on Saturday, May 26.

But they are facing charges for illegal possession of dangerous drugs and obstruction of justice.

Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said Sunday, May 27 that criminal complaints were filed before the City Prosecutor's Office on Saturday, May 26, against Poja's girlfriend Claudine Bindol, a certain Cyril Jarina, Rusty Constantino, and an alleged doctor who treated Poja's wounds when he got injured in an encounter with authorities in Barangay Banago, Bacolod City last week.

The reglementary period lapsed before the police could file the cases over the weekend.

On May 24, Poja, and his group engaged in two separate firefights with police operatives after they were seen in the said village.

Poja, 36, the most wanted person of Police Station 3 in Bacolod City, and his cousin Roberto Lim, both high-value targets, were killed in a shootout while his companion, Constantino got injured on the second encounter.

Wounded on the first encounter was Senior Inspector Victor Paulino, head of Police Station 3; Erlinda Cordova and her son Jhodan Cordova, 20, both hit by stray bullets.

Police have yet to determine the possible participation of house owner Salvador Poja in the incident.
