ALLEGED pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles was removed from the government's witness protection program (WPP).
According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), it terminated the program effective May 25 since there had been no further claim of threat to her personal security.
She was granted partial coverage of the program on February 27 by then DOJ secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II in exchange for her testimonies on the misuse of the P10-billion Priority Development Assistance Fund (Pdaf).
The coverage of her WPP will expire on May 26 after three months since she was committed to the program.
Napoles, the alleged pork barrel queen, is facing plunder charges for her reported involvement in the misuse of Pdaf funds of lawmakers.
Billions of pork barrel funds were funneled into her bogus non-government organizations.
The office of the Ombudsman has filed 97 graft cases against Napoles.
Pundits believed that Napoles should not be a state witness, as she is the most guilty party.
MalacaƱang has already expressed its support on the move of the DOJ.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. said he believed that Napoles is "not the least guilty" to testify in the controversial Pdaf scheme.
But Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales insisted otherwise.
For her, Napoles will not become a state witness in the pork barrel cases.
