Innovation Summit Conference and Expo set on June 19-20

STAKEHOLDERS from different industries will come together to reinforce the ecosystem that supports enterprise development and increases innovation capabilities of micro, small, and medium enterprises.

They will share their knowledge through the Innovation Summit Conference and Expo on June 19 and 20 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, providing opportunities and strategies for inclusive growth and sustainability of Cebu’s businesses. The Innovation Summit Conference and Expo is one of the highlights of the Cebu Business Month (CBM) 2018, the annual flagship project of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), which formally began yesterday. It is aligned with the theme, “Innovate Cebu”.

“This event provides unique and timely opportunities for sectors to foster a culture of entrepreneurship through technology and innovation,” said Benedict Que, CBM 2018 overall chairman and president of Golden Prince Hotel and Suites.

The Expo, a venue to showcase innovative services and products and to do on-site business matching, will open on June 19 with Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon M. Lopez and the Department Of Science & Technology Secretary Fortunato dela Peña as the guests of honor.

A total of 128 exhibitors from different sectors and industries have already confirmed to gather at the Expo. They are members of the Philippine Franchise Association and Hotel Resort Restaurant Association of Cebu, real estate firms, and ICT/BPO companies.

The “Franchise Negosyo Para sa Cebu Expo” by the Philippine Franchise Association is one of the highlights of the Innovation Summit Expo.

Karl de Pio, chairman of the Innovation Summit Expo, said one of the things to look forward to is the special setting of the Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation that will showcase Cebu’s furniture and accessories and put up a Creator’s Market during the exhibit.

The conference will also feature high-powered speakers such as Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Fortunato Dela Peña, DOST-Research and Development Undersecretary Dr. Rowena Cristina Guevara, AirAsia Group chief executive officer Tony Fernandes, Microsoft regional director for corporate, external, and legal affairs Astrid S. Tuminez, Department of Information, Communication and Technology Acting Secretary Eliseo Rio Jr., and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Deputy Director Raymond Estioko. (PR)
