Editorial: Excellent public relations

THE newly-installed chief of Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas said he will continue the practice of excellent public relations with the community. One that is anchored on truthful service for the public.

Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, the former Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson, assumed his new post in a turnover ceremony Tuesday, June 5, at the police regional headquarters in Iloilo City.

Bulalacao replaced Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, who was assigned to head the PNP Directorate for Information and Communications and Technology Management based in Camp Crame.

In his speech, Bulalacao said he will ensure organizational discipline, unit integrity, and individual reform that will henceforth dictates the direction of all actions.

"I will strengthen the oversight function of the command group and regional staff to regularly evaluate the performance of all provincial and city directors, staff and city directors and chiefs of police to ensure the attainment of command policies," Bulalacao said.

He also assured that police officers with exemplary performances will be rewarded while the misfits will surely be punished.

Good deeds and exemplary performances will be greatly acknowledged, he said.

For his part, Binag, who served the regional headquarters for one year, thanked PRO-Western Visayas for their support during his stint.

He urged them to continue their support to the new regional director.
