P3.5M drug stash seized from San Nicolas man

A 37-YEAR-OLD man who was linked to a top aide of Cebu’s biggest alleged drug lord, Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz, was caught by the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Cebu City Police Office with P3.5 million worth of illegal drugs on Tuesday afternoon.

Seized from Catalino Oliveros Jr. were 300 grams of shabu with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P3,540,000 in Sitio Tabasca, Barangay Basak San Nicolas.

“We placed him under one month’s surveillance and he was connected to one of our arrested persons last Holy Week. His source of illegal drugs is in Manila,” Supt. Cristopher Navida, chief of the City Intelligence Branch, said.

Navida said that Oliveros took over the contacts of Joselito “Otik” Arellano, who was allegedly Diaz’s right hand man, driver and bodyguard. Diaz was shot dead in 2016.

The intelligence chief said that Oliveros was previously arrested for drug charges, and that the drugs were directly given to Oliveros, who was supposed to dispose of it. (JOB)
