Bacolod hosting Regional Development Council meeting

THE City of Bacolod is hosting the Regional Development Council (RDC)-Western Visayas Second Quarter Regular Meeting today, June 14, at Seda Capitol Central Hotel.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia said the RDC-Western Visayas, chaired by Antique Governor Rhodora Cadiao, will be attended by the governors and the city mayors of Western Visayas, and heads of various government agencies in the region.

Aside from delivering the Welcome Message, Leonardia will also present the development priorities of Bacolod.

“I find this very significant because the Regional Development Council is the policy-making body of the region, and that the council is the one approving the major projects of each province and city,” he said.

“Considering the rapid growth of Bacolod, we have to keep abreast with what is happening in the Regional Development Council. We are thankful for the opportunity to host this meeting,” he added.

“The venue of the RDC-Western Visayas meeting, which is Seda Hotel, will showcase that we have a new branded hotel, and in the tourism world, that means we are now at par with the other big cities in the country,” the mayor added.

Before the Negros Island Region (NIR) was dissolved, Bacolod also hosted the NIR-RDC meeting in December 2016.
