1 dies, 4 hurt in Dipolog highway mishap

A SEPTUAGENARIAN died while four others were injured in three motorcycle smash up along the national highway in Dipolog City, the police said Friday, June 15.

The Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula reported that the incident occurred at 7:45 a.m. Thursday along the national highway in Sankol village, Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte.

The police identified the fatality as Lucio Crismundo, 70, of Dangi village, Polanco town.

Wounded were Timmy Misario, 17; Marlon Crismundo, 41; Ariel Descallar, 23; and Glairedeo Pahulas, 21.

The police said the three motorcycles, driven by Misario, (Marlon) Crismundo, and Descallar, were traveling in opposite directions when they collided along the national highway.

The elder Crismundo was the back rider of (Marlon) Crismundo while Pahulas of Descallar.

The police said the elder Crismundo was rushed but failed to reach the hospital alive.
