Drug den dismantled; P81,000 drugs seized

AUTHORITIES have dismantled a suspected drug den and arrested five people, including a member of a syndicate, in a drug bust in Zamboanga City, an official said Saturday, June 16.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified those arrested as the following: Paulita Berdin Tubil, Grace Monroy Berdin, Orlando Balanding Tubil, Jr., Raymark Tubil Monroy, and Rowel Corpuz Macaso.

Galvez said the suspects were arrested around 4 p.m. Friday in Camino Nuevo village.

She said Paulita is an alleged member of the Delta Force Drug Group while Berdin as a maintainer of the drug den.

The police officer said Orlando, a drug den employee, Monroy and Macaso, were caught having pot session during the operation.

She said the joint team of policemen and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency agents have seized from the suspects P81,600 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as “shabu” packed in three heat-seal transparent plastic sachets, P1,500 marked money consisting of P1,000 and P500 bills and illegal drug paraphernalia.

The suspects were detained while appropriate charges are readied to be filed against them, Galvez said. (SunStar Philippines)
