BAGUIO CITY -- A huge boulder fell on a sport utility vehicle (SUV) traversing the Kennon Road in Benguet shortly before noon Sunday, June 17, an initial report from ground personnel of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.
Jojo Flores, maintenance foreman of the DPWH assigned at Kennon Road, said the incident happened around 11:30 a.m. at the Tokang section in Camp 3 of the said thoroughfare in Tuba, Benguet.
He said the Toyota Fortuner with license plate AHA 3502 carrying three passengers was passing on Kennon from the city towards the lowland.
The boulder, with a height of about 10 feet, fell on the back portion of the vehicle and injured the passengers who were rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.
Kennon Road was opened to motorists at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16, after days of being closed to traffic because of the risk of possible landslides.
