MATI City, Davao Oriental -- The Baku Uno and Kujaw Tiger Dragons (KTG) Graveh shared top honors at the close of Pujada Bay Invasion 1st City of Mati Dragon Boat Competition here in Baywalk.

Baku Uno of Iligan City won the mixed 200-meter standard title while the Cortez, Surigao del Sur-based KTD Graveh emerged mixed 100m standard champion of the event presented by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Mati in partnership with the Visit Davao Summer Festival (VDSF).

Baku Uno finished the 200-meter race in 51.27 seconds over next two placers KTD Kusog (51.99) and KTD Baskog (52.57).

Mark Anthony Calimbas, manager of Baku Uno, lauded his paddlers for their dedication in training.

"It's so amazing kay gitrabaho jud namo ni ug nakuha jud namo ang gusto namo mahitabo. Our training was hard especially mu-mata sayo buntag para mag training was not easy. Happy kaayo mi kay na tanan paningkamot kay naay gwapong result (We got what we wanted despite the sacrifices during training, it yielded a good result)," Calimbas said.

KTD Graveh, meanwhile, clocked 28.97 over Dragon Warriors of Davao City (29.26) and KTD Swabeh (29.67). The champion team trained for two weeks to prepare for the race.

The champions in both categories received P25,000 each while P15,000 and P10,000 were awarded to the second and third placers.
