A TOTAL of 2,000 indigent families in 10 selected villages have benefited from the distribution of food by the Pilipinong May Puso Foundation.
Representative Karlo Alexi Nograles of Davao City’s first district led the distribution of the food packs on behalf of the foundation.
Representative Celso Lobregat of the 1st district of Zamboanga City joined Noegrales in the distribution held in Baliwasan village.
The indigent family-beneficiaries are from the villages of San Jose Gusu, Campo Islam, San Jose-Cawa-Cawa, Sto. Niño, Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3, Zone 4 and Sta. Cataliana aside from Baliwasan.
The recipients were happy to be chosen to receive food packs since it meant a lot to their families.
The distribution of food packs was a side activity of Nograles, who held dialogues with the students of state universities and colleges on the implementation of the Republic Act (RA) 10931 otherwise known as the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.
The students who attended the dialogue on RA 10931 conducted by Nograles were the following: Zamboanga City State Polytechnic College, Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology, Southern City Colleges, and Western Mindanao State University. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
