4 nabbed in drug bust ops

GOVERNMENT agents have arrested four people, including three newly-identified drug personalities, in separate drug busts early Monday in Zamboanga City, an official said.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified arrested suspects as Jerwin Chiang, 34; Leo Partosa, 31; Dan Jones, 24; and, Rodel Abdulkalam.

Galvez said that Chiang, Partosa and Jones were newly-identified drug personalities. They were arrested in a drug bust around 3 a.m. Monday at Toribio drive in Pasonanca village, this city.

She said seized from the possession of the trio were eight heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) with an estimated street value of P1,500 and marked money.

The police officer said Abdulkalam was arrested in another drug bust around 1 a.m. Monday at Royal Lane in Tugbungan village.

She said seized from Abdulkalam’s possession were suspected shabu packed in three heat-sealed plastic sachets with an estimated street value of P1,600 and P300 marked money consisting of three P100 bills.

She said the suspects were detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Philippines)
