WHILE some people no longer have a father, KC Concepcion is lucky enough to have two doting fathers: biological dad Gabby Concepcion and stepdad Sen. Francisco “Kiko” Pangilinan.
On Father’s Day, KC shared her appreciation to both her dads in separate Instagram posts.
KC first posted a photo of Pangilinan on Sunday, along with the caption: “The side people rarely see... When he’s not slaying dragons, he’s with the girls giving love advice. Thank you to the main man of our lives: the one who taught me how to use a dictionary, budget my money, plan ahead and be organized. Long nights of talking, communicating, spending quality time became a REALITY with you.”
Pangilinan married KC’s mother Sharon Cuneta in 1996, when KC was only 11. Concepcion, meanwhile, left to live in the US in 1995 and only came back in 2008.
In 13 years, Pangilinan was the only father KC knew.
But following Gabby’s return to the Philippines, the biological father and daughter have gotten closer.
In a separate Instagram post, KC shared a photo of Gabby and her grandmother Baby Arellano. KC called Gabby the first man she ever loved.
“I will always be thankful for the ways you record memories, remind me of the who’s who in our family tree, and tell me stories and remind me of my roots,” the 33-year-old wrote on Instagram. “I always look forward to our endless late night phone conversations, where we talk until you fall asleep. Yes, you, because I’m a night owl and can go on til the sun rises, but you never cut me off. Perhaps to make up for all the lost time all the years we were apart.”
