LOLONG Uy snagged the Bowler of the Month for June title after scoring 1,270 in the Philippine Seniors Bowlers-Cebu Chapter (PSBC) in the Gaisano Bowlingplex in Banilad last Sunday.
The 44-handcicapper Uy scored 1,270 in the six-game series to win by a 41-point margin over the 24-handicapper Boy Co. Pol Torremillano nabbed third place after scoring 1,205.
Despite hitting his lowest score of 191 in the final and sixth game, Uy was able to build enough points in the previous games to come out victorious in the tournament for the 55-Above bowlers.
Uy, who averaged 168 points in the monthly tilt, started the game on a high note, scoring his day’s best of 230, followed by 224 and 206 in the next two rounds.
Uy slowed down a bit in the fourth game with 193 but he recovered in the next game with 226 before hitting his lowest for the day 191. With the win, Uy is now qualified for the PSBC finals later this year.
George Tesch fired 1,204 to take fourth place, while Tessie Dante was the top scorer among the female bowlers with 1,203 and finished in fifth place overall.
Those who made the Top 10 this month are Ed Aninon (1,192), Manny Bueno (1,190), Cerge Go (1,188), Sylvia Tesch (1,183) and Orly Enoveso (1,171). (RSC)
