THE City of Bacolod honored its outstanding citizens, employees and top business taxpayers during the Commemoration of the 80th year of the signing of Bacolod City Charter rites held at the L' Fisher Hotel yesterday.
Recognized as outstanding employees were Cesar Dimson Jr., Hector Dioquino, Walter Salvacion, Maximo Calderon, Architect Faith Joy Lumauag, and Engineer Xenia Locsin.
The top five individual business taxpayers were Jerry Sy of Silver Dragon Construction Lumber and Glass Supply, Wilkenson Ong of Wilkenson Construction, Mauel Po of LJP Trading, Ofelia Lacson Montelibano of Felicia's Retail and Pastry Shop, and Pio Escala Villaester of GPM Trading and Engineering Services.
The top five corporate business taxpayers were the Mainstream Business Inc. of SM Department Store, Neo Foods Corporation (Jollibee), SM Prime Holdings Inc., San Miguel Brewery Inc., and Shuurmans and Van Ginneken Phil. Inc.
The top five individual realty taxpayers were Jose Antonio Alonte, Rolando Corona Jr., Catherin Ong, Luis Ong, and Belina Ong.
The top five corporate realty taxpayers were SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (SM City Bacolod), Coca-Cola Femsa Phils. Inc., San Miguel Brewery Inc., CM Mandalagan Bacolod Inc. (City Mall Mandalagan), and Dynasty Management and Development Corp. (Gaisano Bacolod).
Mayor Evelio Leonardia also awarded special citations to Bar exam 2017 topnotcher Mark John Simondo, Ian Lo, James Chua, Jeselle Hyacint Suarez-Hablo, Jonathan Lo, Christopher James Yap, Christian Jacob Yap, Jinky Joy Besa, Mae Eso Soriano, John Dave Duenas, Rafael Burdeos Jonathan Cachila, Joey Destriza, Dexter Inventor, and Felizardo Seballa Jr.
Alonte said he's happy for receiving the award and he's thankful to the City Government officials.
"I'm hopeful that this will not be the last," he said.
The awarding was led by Leonardia along with Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Michael Lloyd Dino, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, Congressman Greg Gasataya, Councilors Dindo Ramos, Caesar Distrito, Em Ang, Cindy Rojas, Renecito Novero, Ann Marie Palermo and Noli Villarosa.
