BCY II, ASSFBI Triple-D wins duckpin bowling

BCY II and ASSFBI Triple-D emerged as champion in their respective division of the 18th Bowlers Club of Bacolod City Open Trio Duckpin Bowling Spectacle 2018 at the Negros Super Lanes and Entertainment Billiard Center in Bacolod City.

ASSFBI Solid Strikers won the championship in Bracket B while Apollo/Centerline, Grupo Retirado, and J-Force Davies were the winners in the consolation contest of the non-winning entries.

The twice-to-beat BCY bowlers of Bobby Yap composed of Edgar De Leon, Nonoy Hulguin, Mitz Villa and Cyril Mayordomo bulldozed Kami Mga Hubin Team represented by Toto Flores, Raymund Galvan and Essho Garcia in the final showdown, 348-306, to grab the tournament’s crown.

KMH of Sonny Elegado claimed the opportunity to challenge the champion team by ransacking BCY La Filipina Trading in the semi-final knocked-out match, 372-323.

In category B, top qualifier ASSFBI Solid Strikers of Edgar Allan Del Rosario bagged the title by default as their sister team Silverado of Cecil Silverio opted not to face them in the championship.

Playing for ASSFBI were Ulysses Pacheco, Rodney Bojos, Boy Tisoy and Ric Abellar.

The Davies squad of Edgar Jerez settled for second runner-up in the same division after absorbing defeat in the hands of Silverado.

ASSFBI Triple-D won the championship in the women’s bracket with a victory over RJ Stars/NPBC in the deciding contest 303-289 to bring home the bacon.

RJ Stars defeated the twice-to-beat champion squad in their first game encounter, 300-298, for the rubber match.

The members of Triple-D team were Sylvia “Darna” Del Rosario, Lea Javier, Tess Robles and Juliet Regollo while playing for NPBC were Jing Lamis, Rowena Juarez, Mae Memoracion.

KMH Ladies led by Sharon Sioson and ON-BACIBA headed by Cora Romero placed second and third place, respectively.

Ulysses Pacheco of Solid Strikers and Jing2x Lamis of RJ Stars ruled in the battle of the top 10 bowlers to win the master title in the men and women’s division.

In the individual competition, Ronella Cordero (D’Explorer) booked the highest pinning record with 96, and Sharon Sioson (KMH) registered the single and triple record in the distaff side with 148 and 363 pinfalls.

Silverado’s Orly Guiljon established the record in the men’s highest pinning with 96, while Reymund Lopez (BCY) and Nonoy Hulguin (BCY La Filipina) in a single and triple record with 161 and 390, respectively.

The men’s team single and triple were recorded by BCY II with 408and 1,094, while D’Explorer in the women’s category with 357 and 984. (PR)
