TO ADDRESS the unfinished road constructions causing flooded streets, Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III will issue an Executive Order (EO) compelling the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to create a drainage plan first before starting the works.

This after he noticed that flooding occurs because there was no proper outfall of drainages in the metropolis.

“I will issue an executive order that will not allow any road constructions without corresponding drainage plan because the water stopped from there and it triggers flood,” Espinosa said.

He noticed there were still unfinished road constructions that also caused traffic especially in La Paz district.

Espinosa also pointed that there was no proper drainage system in front of Mandurriao public cemetery.

The mayor will talk to City District Engineer Rodney Gustilo to be enlightened of all road constructions. (PR)
