SIXTY more barangays in Cebu Province were declared drug-cleared yesterday.
These include 18 in Borbon town, 17 in Tabogon, nine in Alegria, four each in Oslob and San Francisco, three in Medellin, two in Samboan and one each in San Remegio, Sogod and the City of Naga.
The declaration was made by the oversight committee led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 7.
A barangay is considered drug-cleared if it meets certain parameters, including the absence of drug personalities in the barangay and the existence of both voluntary and compulsory drug treatment and rehabilitation programs.
As of yesterday, there were 245 barangays confirmed as drug-cleared, out of the 1,066 barangays in the province. (Minsey Lumangyao, CNU Intern)
