10 nabbed in illegal gambling

A TOTAL of 10 persons were arrested in two separate anti-illegal gambling operations in Bacolod City Monday, June 19.

In a press release, Chief Inspector Sherlock Gabana, deputy chief of Police Community Relations Office of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said two operations were conducted at Police Station 4 in one day.

Four persons were arrested around 2:30 p.m. for playing cara y cruz at Purok Hervias 2, Barangay Villamonte.

Police confiscated from them P3 cue coins and P75 in cash.

It was followed by another operation around 3 p.m. on Hilado Street, in the same village, that led to the arrests of six persons for playing cara y cruz.

Police recovered from them P3 as cue coins and P155 in cash.

Gabana said the BCPO continues to intensify its campaign against all forms of illegal gambling in the city. (Debbie Benedicto, STI West Negros University intern)
