AN ALLEGED “contract killer” most commonly known as “gun-for-hire” was arrested while on a mission by policemen in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, the police said Wednesday.
Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the suspect as Junel Tome, 42, who yielded a caliber .45 pistol and a grenade.
Galvez said Tome was arrested around 6 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, in Dawo village.
She said Tome’s arrested came after the personnel of the Provincial Intelligence Branch received information that a man had been contracted to kill a village official in this city.
The police officer said Tome was positively identified by the police information as the man hired to kill a village official.
The suspect was detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against him, Galvez added. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
