Martin guns for WBO Asia bantam crown

UNDEFEATED Ifugao boxing sensation Carl James Martin guns for another regional crown when he takes on Indonesia’s George Lumoly in the main event of “Battle of the Fist” this afternoon, June 21, in Lagawe town.

Martin, also the reigning World Boxing Organization Oriental youth bantamweight title holder will also seek to improve his fight record of eight wins, seven of which came via knock out.

The 19-year-old won the WBO Oriental youth bantamweight crown after stopping Hasimu Zuberi earlier in April.

The visiting Indonesian, who is on a two fight win streak will try to improve his 10-4-1 record.

Lumoly’s two victories came via knock out stopping Ari Punama in March and Dion Rote just last month.

In the supporting bout, John Hasim Magagmoc (3-0-1), also from Ifugao will vie for the vacant Luzproba flyweight title against undefeated Enrique Magsalin(3–0–2)

In the undercard, super flyweight Roy Nagulman takes on Ruben Cadpa while a light flyweight contest between Joshua Philip Tuguinay and a debuting Anthony Morales will see action at the Don Bosco gym.

Fight fans will also be treated to a light flyweight contest between Evander Dogwe and Joseph Bayubay as minimumweights Jessie Roger Tuguinay and Francisco Morales squares off.

Opening the fight card is a light flyweight match between debuting Eufemio Gamangan and Carlo Miguel.

All bouts are under the supervision of the Games and Amusement Board promoted by Ramon Yogyog and Art Monis serving as match maker. (Roderick Osis)
