CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, together with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Central Luzon, Provincial Government of Pampanga, and Department of Health-Central Luzon recently declared Barangay Pandaras as “drug-cleared.”

After completing the requirements under the Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation 3, Series of 2017, Barangay Pandaras was declared drug free for the village leaders' efforts to prevent the proliferation of illegal drugs in the area.

Present during awarding were Mayor Edwin Santiago, Vice Mayor Jaime Lazatin, Captain Edcel Miranda, City Councilor BJ Lagman, Officer-in-Charge City Administrator Michael Quizon, Chief of Police Levi Hope Basilio, DILG City Local Government Operations Officer Irinea Bacani, and Barangay Councilor Jun Calalang.

Miranda said the information dissemination and coordination of village officials helped in their fight against the drug menace.

As a leader, the village chief said he is always open to his constituents.

Miranda said that village officials encourage the residents to participate in the campaign against illegal drugs.

Santiago lauded the barangay officials for their effort against drugs and other forms of crimes.

"We are all pleased because our objective for this city to be drug-free is progressing. It starts in the barangays, so I congratulate Barangay Pandaras for their good work in promoting drug-free in their area. You’ll be expecting us to continue the elimination of illegal drugs program in other barangays because we, the local government, is always on hand to support," he said.
