USC looks to bounce back in Partners Cup

UNIVERSITY of San Carlos (USC) Warriors look to bounce back from a lopsided defeat in the pre-season as it takes on Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma in the main game of the Cebu School Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Partner’s Cup tonight in the Cebu Coliseum.

USC will be without one of its key players, John Reel Saycon, who was suspended for the rest of the pre-season after attacking University of the Visayas (UV) guard Trsitan Albina. USC is coming off a 94-67 defeat in the hands of the Green Lancers.

USC won its first two games in the seniors division. The Warriors defeated Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U), 81-71, and University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), 67-63.

SWU-Phinma, in the meantime, dropped its first two contests. The Cobras lost to University of Cebu (UC), 84-76, and to University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF), 79-54.

UC is currently at the top of the seniors division with 3-0, followed by USPF and UV with identical 2-0 slates. USC is fourth with 2-1, SWU-Phinma is fifth with 0-2, while USJ-R and CIT-U are at the bottom with 0-3. (EKA)
