THE Cebu City Government will distribute rice to some drug surrenderers in the city who religiously attended and completed their rehabilitation sessions.
Mayor Tomas Osmeña has approved the recommendation of Cebu City Office for Substance Abuse (Cosap) Executive Director Garry Lao to give food assistance as incentives to those who have taken seriously their community-based rehabilitation treatment (CBT).
At present, there are 57 CBT graduates and 15 office-based graduates.
Lao said that each graduate will get five kilos of rice after graduating from the We Care Program and another five kilos upon completing the after-care program. Lao said they are also planning to tap businesses that will be willing to employ the rehabilitated surrenderers.
Cosap has set aside P316,000 as its budget for the rice subsidy. (RVC)
