Today's pride March celebrate ‘Ilab-ilab’ language, creative culture in LGBT community

THE Cebu City Government, through the Anti-Discrimination Commission, called for the passage of the SOGIE bill as they end the city’s Pride Week celebration today with a Pride March.

As part of the week-long celebration, the Anti-Discrimination Commission conducted sexual orientation and gender identity or expression (SOGIE) sensitization program for call center and City Government personnel.

The commission also started the inclusive restroom and safe space campaign.

To end the week, a Pride March will be held at 3 p.m. today from Fuente Osmeña circle to Plaza Sugbo where a solidarity program follows.

Magdalena Robinson, officer-in-charge of the commission, said the event will be a venue for the celebration of the unique and creative culture and language of the LGBT such as the “ilab-ilab (bali-bali)” language. (Paula Joy Mendoza, CNU Intern)
