3 minors sold for online sex rescued in Cordova

(Updated) Three minors were rescued from a 22-year-old woman who allegedly sells them in online sex shows for the amount of P3,000 in Sitio Puso, Barangay Poblacion, Cordova, Cebu, Saturday morning.

According to Chief Insp. Leo Dofiles, chief of the Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) 7, three minors, two were 12 and one aged 15, were identified as victims of the woman who is reportedly a mother of two kids.

Her children, aged 2 and 5, together with another minor are now in the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Central Visayas for assessment as they were present during the operation.

Dofiles said that the woman told authorities that she offered her neighbors, who were minors, to foreigners in the internet.

The operation was conducted with the Special Weapons and Tactics-Cebu Province, DSWD-7, and International Justice Mission.

She will face charges for the violation of RA 9208 (Anti-Trafficking in Persons), as amended by RA 10364 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons) and RA 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. (JOB/SunStar Cebu)
