Official, wife nab in anti-drug operation

GOVERNMENT operatives have arrested a village official tagged as big-time drug personality and his wife in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, the police said Saturday, June 23.

Chief Superintendent Billy Beltran, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspects as Idzsan Allian Hassan, 30, and his wife, Anersa, 27.

Beltran said Hassan is a councilor in the village of Kabubu, Siasi, Sulu.

Beltran said the couple was arrested by the Regional Drugs Enforcement Unit-9 in a drug bust around 4 p.m. Thursday in Sto. Niño village, Zamboanga City.

He said seized from the couple were P100,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride commonly known as “shabu” and P400 marked money comprising of four P100 bills.

He said the couple was placed under the custody of Zamboanga City Police Office in preparation for filing of appropriate charges against them. (SunStar Philippines)
