School director charged for theft, falsification

A SCHOOL director is facing a case of qualified theft and falsification of documents for allegedly failing to account tuition payments from students of a culinary school in La Trinidad, Benguet.

Based on a report from the La Trinidad Municipal Police Office, the complainant, campus director Ernest Gadiano Abellera alleged Jonathan Licua Monte Bangar who failed to account the tuition payments of students.

Investigation disclosed Bangar was employed by a culinary school in 2015 as an academic director until he promoted to school director on May 2018 and was in control of students' payments for the school.

In a statement to police, school administrative officer Francesca De Vera Assuncion Almoebe disclosed she received a complaint from one of their students on tuition paid but were never recorded.

After the complaint, Almoebe conducted an investigation and indeed found payments not recorded despite having acknowledgement receipts.

The complainant also alleged bank statement accounts were tampered including school documents submitted to their main office which had forged signatures and cash collections personally received by the suspect signed by him under the name of his staff.
