Vacant WBC Asia tilt up for grabs in ‘Great Fights’

AFTER losing the Philippine flyweight title barely two months ago, Ryan Ponteras will try to redeem the loss as he guns for the vacant WBC Asia south flyweight championship.

Ponteras, whose record stands at 21 wins and 13 losses, will once again headline the 'Great Fights at the Heights' slated on June 30 at the Igorot Park.

The fighting pride of Cotabato will square off against Indonesian Silem Serang in a 12 rounder presented by Raffy Panagan Sports Promotion in cooperation with Black Mamba Energy Drink, Vic Calderon, Jomarcann Construction, and Baguio's Finest Security Agency.

The undercard will also pit Edrin Dapudong and Jomar Fajardo in an eight round super bantamweight contest while Cris Paulino squares off against Junjie Lauza in another eight rounder super bantamweight clash.

Dapudong, who last fought in 2016 will try to improve his 33 wins that includes 20 knock outs with six losses and one draw after scoring back to back victories against RenRen Tesorio and Ronerex Dalut.

Fajardo, the 26 year old fighting pride of Binangonan, Rizal meanwhile will try to get out of a slump losing eight of his last nine bouts.

Paulino, meanwhile, who has retired his last three opponents seek to improve his 17 - 3 win loss record but Junjie Lauza will have another thing in mind as he eyes to bounce back after losing his last two fights.
