Pangan: More business prospects

WALTER Mart and Gardenia are only two business prospects aiming to set camp in Mabalacat City, this I gathered from Mr. Rosan Paquia, head of the City Planning and Development Council or CPDC and current City Administrator.

Rosan divulged to me this information as we discussed the forthcoming Comprehensive Development Plan, an ambitious roadmap for the city.

For his part, Mayor Crisostomo Garbo is enthusiastic to welcome any and all investors to the city, as he explained the good prospects awaiting the investors since, he said, the city has all the best methods to allow ease in doing business in the city.

The CPDC under the helm of Rosan envisions and creates good images of the city in consonance with preset guidelines of his office and under the tutelage of Mayor Cris, of course.

Truly, Mabalacat City is an investment haven, similar to adjacent Clark Development Corporation with which it enjoys parallel development and to its neighbors Angeles and San Fernando cities.

On the downside, two firms are doing disservice to the city and its residents: PELCO II continues to render poor, always interrupted service to residents in its service area. Sudden interruptions of electric power supply causes discomfort to affected residents.

Another one rendering poor service is Converge Fiber X, owned and operated by Dennis Anthony Uy and with business offices in Balibago, Angeles City.

Despite its vaunted Fiber optic scheme, some clients experience "garbled" reception in their television sets and oftentimes get interrupted reception with ominous sign "the program is not broadcasting" and this interruption lasts for hours. How come? What happened to the boasts of Converge of fiber optic reception and high definition? To be fair to Converge, it displays an announcement over HBO apologizing to its clients/users of the inconvenience, if any, due to maintenance and other works being conducted.

Relevant government regulatory bodies should look into the bad actuations of PELCO II and Converge Fiber X.

Like in telcos, strong competitors should be fielded to give PELCO II and Converge Fiber X a "fair and square" fight. After all, the viewing and consuming public deserve better treatment.

Happy 50th birthday to Mrs. Liza L. Dean, Officer-in-Charge of the DFA at Marquee Mall, Angeles City. Congratulations to Matthew del Rosario for passing the Licensure Examination for Nurses done June 3 and 4, 2018.

MARLENE MOLINA MENDIOLA, the better half of Poblacion Barangay Chairman Elmer "Totong" Mendiola is now the Acting Treasurer of the city government of Mabalacat, a position she has long and well served. Ergo, she should be retained as the full-fledged Treasurer of Mabalacat City.
