2 teens arrested for drugs

TWO teenagers, on board a tricycle, were arrested by the police authorities after they were found possessing illegal drugs in Barangay 76-A, Sandawa, Matina in Davao City on Sunday morning, June 24.

Police identified the suspects as Iba (name withheld for being a minor), 16 years old based on his birth certificate; and Nicole Alsate Legisan, 19, a construction worker, both from Barangay 21-C.

Initial investigation of the Talomo Police Station showed that the police officers were implementing City Ordinances and Oplan Kap-Kap Bakal Sita particularly at a junction of Quimpo Boulevard. The police saw a Honda motorcyle with sidecar with plate number 6156-LL driven by Sajir Janarin beating the red light. The police flagged it down and noticed that the two teenagers riding trying to conceal something as they were checking the driver. This raised the suspicion of the policemen who also checked the two youths.

Iba was found in possession of one big square and 32 elongated plastic sahcets containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” a big size plastic sachet container, blade, one Samsung brand phone, and P1,040 cash.

Recovered from Legisan were two elongated plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, several empty transparent plastic sachets wrapped in a piece of paper and one Samsung cellular phone.

The two drug suspects, who were tagged as children in conflict with the law and the substance worth P79,000 seized from them were brought to Talomo Police Station.
