Rider Omega captures another team title

THE Rider Omega Triathlon Team proved anew that they’re the team to beat in this region as they captured back-to-back Team Challenge titles in the 2nd MusaMan Triathlon DavNor 2018 in Tagum City, Davao del Norte yesterday.

The Cebu-based commercial team got the fastest overall time in the Team Challenge, a competition for age-groupers wherein the team’s Top 5 triathletes—four males and one female--will be totaled as the overall time.

The Rider Omega had an overall time of 11 hours to win its second consecutive Team Challenge title over TRI SND Barracuda and Team DavNor.

Vic Montebon was one of the team’s top contributors after finishing the 1.5-kilometer swim, 40K bike and 10K run race first to win the men’s 19-24 age-group division.

Cianyl Jamae Gonzalez also made her presence felt after winning the women’s 25-29 division in a race conducted as celebration of Davao del Norte’s 51st founding anniversary.

June Marq Ocana snagged first place in the women’s 40-44 division, Dr. Marivic Tan won the women’s 45-49 and Edwin Yu ruled the men’s 40-44. The team was also hailed champion in the mixed relay competition.

The rest of the podium finishers for Rider Omega were Michael Acas (second, men’s 25-29), Justice Sousa (third, men’s 19-24), Joland Olmilla (third, men’s 25-29), Brian Borling (third, men’s 30-34), Katherine Jumapao (third, women’s 25-29). (RSC)
